Historical Background

Dr. Kiran C. Patel and his wife, Pallavi Patel, will collaborate with Maharishi International University to pioneer an initiative,forging a transformative legacy in Zambia. The cornerstone of this ambitious project is establishing world-class Consciousness-Based Higher Education Institutions bearing the names of Drs. Kiran and Pallavi Patel. These will become landmark institutions influencing and shaping the future of education in Zambia and the region.

Mission

Drs. Kiran C. and Pallavi Patel Maharishi University Zambia (KPMU) will provide an exceptional educational experience by integrating a robust, modern curriculum with principles of Consciousness-Based Education SM. The aim is to develop enlightened leaders who embody wisdom, creativity, and ethical values, contributing to a harmonious and progressive society. KPMU prioritizes each student's personal growth and development, cultivating an environment where consciousness and knowledge fuse to create a transformative educational journey. Academic programs impart knowledge, practical skills, and tools for inner development, enabling them to become pioneers of sustainability, peace, and social innovation. Students can tackle challenges with insight, compassion, and a deep commitment to uplifting the human condition. KPMU envisions becoming a pioneering institution in Consciousness-Based Education in Zambia, setting a national professional and academic training benchmark. Holistic Development of Students: To cultivate a comprehensive educational experience integrating Consciousness-Based Education SM with traditional academic disciplines. Powers of the University

Derived from the University's statute:
Upon acquiring accreditation KPMU will award bachelor's degrees, diplomas, and certificates to those who meet the prescribed requirements.
  • Except for honorary awards, qualifications become conferred upon those who have attended the University and met the set criteria.
  • The University retains the right to rescind any conferred qualification.
  • As outlined in the Higher Education Act No. 4 of 2013, the University focuses on tertiary education, fostering research, and promoting advanced learning.
  • KPMU can set admission policies, entrance requirements, student intake numbers, and selection procedures. The University can also decline re-admission to students not meeting the re-admission criteria.
  • Despite listings in the University Handbook or any other publication, the University reserves the right to withhold any particular course, unit, or qualification offering.
